Thursday was scheduled to be a big fall day for Abilene High School fall athletics, Mother Nature had other ideas.

The Cowboys were scheduled to serve as host to the Abilene Invitational cross country meet and the Cowgirls were scheduled to travel to Chapman for a tennis quad. Neither of those events happened because Mother Nature rained so much.

Both events were cancelled for Thursday, whether they will be made up at a later date is still undecided. The coaches and athletic directors of all involved schools will get together to find if a future date is possible with all teams involved.
