On the varsity side, the boys placed fifth out of eight teams, scoring 29 points.
“Due to injury and illness, the boys were short-handed, but still performed well,” said boys’ coach Brian Sweet. “Zach Heiman did a great job of filling in for Alex Canfield on the 4x400 meter relay after injury. We continue to improve and hope to heal up before the league track meet next week.”
The junior varsity boys’ team placing third as a team while scoring 90 points.
“As we are approaching the NCKL meet and regionals we are really seeing some athletes step up,” said girls’ coach Michelle Elliott. “Lindsey Hurford saw a 9 foot improvement in the discus and made herself a top contender in the event at league. Courtney Hahn continues to run well in the distance. Milea Anderson and Chelsea Pace ran very good races in the 300 hurdles and were rewarded with 1st place finishes.”
