Kansas 150 Film Series take look at Civil War

The Dickinson County Historical Society will host the Kansas 150 Film Series at 2 p.m. Sunday, April 17 at the Heritage Center and this month’s film is entitled The Civil War: The Cause. This program is free to the public.

This year marks the 150th anniversary of the beginning of the American Civil War. The film The Civil War: The Cause was originally produced for PBS by Ken Burns.

The series The Civil War was one of the most popular documentaries ever made. This episode explores the issues of Union versus states’ rights and the events the precipitated the American Civil War. This film run for 99 minutes.

The Kansas 150 Film Series is an educational program sponsored by the Dickinson County Historical Society and is open to the public free of charge. Donations are accepted to help defray the cost of the films. The historical society would like to invite everyone to consider becoming a member of the Dickinson County Historical Society to help preserve the county’s heritage.
