Cowboys fall to Panthers

CONCORDIA — The Concordia Panthers remained undefeated following two wins over the Abilene Cowboys, 11-1, 9-2, on Tuesday.

Concordia improved to 12-0 on the season and 6-0 in the North Central Kansas League.

The Cowboys had two hits and one run in the first game. Alex Friederich scored on an RBI triple by Bryce Meuli in the fourth inning. Nolan Berry also had a double.

Alex Friederich pitched three innings and Tanner Hoekman threw one in relief.

The Cowboys took the lead in game two scoring in the top of the first. Concordia tied the game in the second. Abilene took a 2-1 lead with a run in the top of the fourth but Concordia scored three runs in the fifth and three in the sixth.

Kane Kelly had an RBI triple and Berry had an RBI single for the Cowboys.

Dalton Millican started the game for Abilene on the mound and pitched five innings. He had only two earned runs giving up four hits. Meuli pitched one inning of relief.

The Cowboys, 2-10 overall, 2-6 in the NCKL, host Beloit at 4 p.m. on Friday at the Ted Power Field.
