He was born June 9, 1947, in Lexington, Neb., to Thomas Frank and Elna Jean Flynn Bevard Sr.
He was a 1966 graduate of Cozad High School, Cozad, Neb.
He was drafted into the U.S. Army in 1969 and retired in 1989. During his military career, his family lived in Germany, New York and Fort Riley. They also lived in Chapman and moved to Industry in 1986. He worked at as a tank mechanic at Fort Riley until September 2011.
He married Irene Verna Blau on June 14, 1968, in Hastings, Neb. She survives, of the home.
Other survivors include one son, Jeremy Lloyd Bevard of Giltner, Neb.; one daughter, Jennifer Leanna Bevard-Huiett of Industry; his mother, Elna J. Bevard of Cozad, Neb.; two sisters, Linda France and Sally Jo Mayer, both of Lincoln, Neb.; one brother, Victor Bevard Sr., of Cozad, Neb. and three grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by two sons, Jade Thomas and Joshua Lee Bevard and one brother, Thomas Frank Bevard Sr.
A memorial service will be at 1 p.m. Saturday, May 5, at the Londeen Funeral Chapel, 206 W. Fifth, Chapman. The family has requested cremation with a private burial of ashes at a later date.
Memorials in his name made be made to the Kansas State University Basic Cancer Research if the Harry Hines Hospice and sent in care of the Londeen Funeral Chapel, Box 429, Chapman, Kan., 67431.
